Minglanilla vs Dalaguete to kick off Governor’s Cup division finals

-

Hardcourt action shifts to a much higher level as Minglanilla and Dalaguete begin their best-of-three South Division Finals in the 2017 Cebu Governor’s Cup Under-12 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Basketball Tournament tonight at the Minglanilla Sports Complex.

Game time it set at 7 pm. Minglanilla gained homecourt advantage after completing a 5-0 sweep in the quarterfinal round, while Dalaguete advanced after stunning victories over the Talisay Aqua Stars and Toledo City Energy.

Minglanilla will try to assert its mastery over Dalaguete but it must not flirt with complacency as the finals is a completely different ballgame.

As usual, Minglanilla will count the most from their top gunnners in Jiesel Tarrosa, Jan Joshen Mangaron and brothers Marc Glen and Mark Justine Nebril.

On the other hand, Dalaguete will bank on the likes of Erickson Sangoyo, Von Plough Villahermosa, Earl Justine Balbuena, John Mark Pagula and Frederick John Selerio.

Meanwhile, the North Division finals between the undefeated Mandaue City and Consolacion will commence this Saturday at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

Mandaue boasts of a star-studded cast anchored on Jancork Cabahug, Christopher Isabelo, Aljie Mendez, JB Damolo, Ken Gato, Froilan Mangubat and Jeric Gonzaga.

They’re up against a slew of Consolacion talents in JC Escalona, Froiland Maglasang, Patrick Yu, Emmanuel Villamor and Cyril Sabellana.

After the series, the division champs will clash for the title also in a raceto-2 affair. The grand champion wil take home P500,000, while the runnerup will receive P300,000.
