The Essential accessory for 360degree video recording
Amidst all the attention drawn on the December availability of Apple’s “iPhone X” in the Philippines, one smartphone brand managed to turn a lot of heads its way by coming out with an accessory that allows for easy 360-degree video recording.
Dubbed the “Essential Phone,” the smartphone model is bundled with an optional 360- degree camera accessory that can be used to broadcast live recordings via Facebook’s “Facebook Live” feature – with support for Twitter’s “Periscope” feature to follow.
Weighing less than 35 grams, the accessory camera can capture 360-degree videos at up to 4K resolutions. It also comes with support for spatial audio recording.
The accessory is a complement to the phone’s builtin 12-megapixel dual camera system.
Developed by Andrew Rubin – the lead developer of Google’s Android mobile operating system – more information on the “Essential Phone” and its 360-degree camera accessory is hosted on the brand’s official online pages.
