The Freeman - - COMMUNITY -

The upcoming SM Run 8 on February 18 will benefit the Cebu Newsworkers Foundation, Inc. (Cenewof).

Cenewof aims to enhance the standards of journalism, promote professionalism and ensure the welfare of workers in the print media industry. It has established a press center named in honor of the late Cebuano Senate president and chief justice Marcelo B. Fernan.

The Marcelo B. Fernan Press Center located at the DepEd Compound in Lahug, Cebu City, offers a mini theater for the use not only of the media community, but also for different organizations that may need a venue for cultural events, performing arts presentations, and meetings.

Registration to the SM Run is ongoing at the second level of SM City's The Northwing, near Cyberzone. Registration fee is pegged at P550 for 4K, P650 for 8K, P750 for 12K, and P950 for 21K. For 12K and 21K runners, attach any government-issued ID together with the registration form.

The run will now use some of the major streets and landmarks of Cebu City, passing Sergio Osmeña avenue, Plaza Independencia, Osmeña Boulevard, Fuente Osmeña Circle, Cebu Provincial Capitol, Escario street, Gorordo Avenue, Salinas Drive, Banilad, and Pope John Paul II Avenue.
