Members of the medical, academe and business leaders had converged to form the Cebu COVID-19 Citizens (CCC) Initiatives in order to unify and solidify its actions in fighting the virus.

The CCC-Initiatives will be launched today in Cebu City with Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma participating in the activity that will be aired in over 20 radio stations in the city.

Aside from Palma, medical practitioners as well as the survivors would be sharing their views and experiences on COVID-19.

In a statement, the CCC Initiatives is calling on Cebuanos to unite, stop blaming and to follow the health protocols.

“We are calling on our Fellow Cebuanos to please take this pandemic, this crisis, really seriously. The COVID-19 virus only needs warm bodies to thrive. In two weeks, it will die if it touches none. Let us hang on. But we ask you, mga Kaigsu-onang Sugbo-anon, let us do this, truly in unity. We ask you to stand in solidarity as a community to defeat the virus once and for all,” the statement read.

They added that we are in a war where we need to rise and unite and that our lives would depend on how we battle this unseen force.

“This is our fight. The best way to fight is for us to stay home. We need to sacrifice in unison, in the spirit of cooperation. We can do what people power truly is. Hand in hand, let us get through this predicament together,” the statement further read. —
