Supporter of Maguindanao Governor Mangudadatu killed
MAGUINDANAO – A staunch supporter of Maguindanao Governor Toto Mangudadatu was killed in North Upi town ahead of national polls .
Motorcycle gunmen ambushed Lorenzo Talma while heading home. Police were still investigating the motive of the killing whether it was connected to clan war or family feud or had something to do with politics.
Talma was also a supporter of North Upi Mayor Ramon Piang and reelectionist Governor Mujiv Hataman of the volatile Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killing of Talma.
Clan war is rampant in the restive province of Maguindanao where Mangudadatu is being challenged by an influential Muslim leader Datu Ali Midtimbang, who is running along with the powerful Ampatuan clan under the United Nationalist Alliance.
Talma belonged to the Liberal Party of Mangudadatu and Hataman, and Piang.
