Blue Dragons seek UCBL pay­back vs Griffins

Dil­i­man Col­lege hopes to get back at first round tor­men­tor Cole­gio de San Lorenzo to­day even as Oli­varez Col­lege seeks to ex­tend its win run in the Uni­ver­si­ties and Col­leges Bas­ket­ball League (UCBL) Sea­son 2 at the Oli­varez Col­lege gym in Su­cat, Parañaque.

The Dil­i­man Blue Dragons and the CdSL Griffins clash at 12 noon with the for­mer eye­ing the solo lead at 8-1 and the lat­ter out for a share of it with the idle CEU Scor­pi­ons at 7-1.

Out to lead the Blue Dragons are guard Rick­son Gerero and Sene­galese Adama Di­akhite, who com­bined in the team’s 79-70 win over the Bu­la­can State Uni­ver­sity Gold Gears last Thurs­day.

Gerero ex­ploded for a teamhigh 22 points while the 6-foot-9 Di­akhite pro­duced a rare triple­dou­ble of 18 points, 25 re­bounds and 11 blocks.

Mean­time, the Oli­varez Sea Li­ons gun for their fourth straight win and sixth over­all in nine games as they col­lide with the Tech­no­log­i­cal In­sti­tute of the Philip­pines En­gi­neers at 2 p.m.

The Sea Li­ons hacked out a 91-87 win over Lyceum Batan­gas while the En­gi­neers scored a 72-55 rout of the Uni­ver­sity of Batan­gas Brah­mans.
