Blue Dragons seek UCBL payback vs Griffins

-

Diliman College hopes to get back at first round tormentor Colegio de San Lorenzo today even as Olivarez College seeks to extend its win run in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 2 at the Olivarez College gym in Sucat, Parañaque.

The Diliman Blue Dragons and the CdSL Griffins clash at 12 noon with the former eyeing the solo lead at 8-1 and the latter out for a share of it with the idle CEU Scorpions at 7-1.

Out to lead the Blue Dragons are guard Rickson Gerero and Senegalese Adama Diakhite, who combined in the team’s 79-70 win over the Bulacan State University Gold Gears last Thursday.

Gerero exploded for a teamhigh 22 points while the 6-foot-9 Diakhite produced a rare tripledouble of 18 points, 25 rebounds and 11 blocks.

Meantime, the Olivarez Sea Lions gun for their fourth straight win and sixth overall in nine games as they collide with the Technological Institute of the Philippines Engineers at 2 p.m.

The Sea Lions hacked out a 91-87 win over Lyceum Batangas while the Engineers scored a 72-55 rout of the University of Batangas Brahmans.
