Watch­man held for gun ban vi­o­la­tion

A barangay watch­man was ar­rested in Batan­gas on Mon­day for vi­o­la­tion of the gun ban im­posed for the As­so­ci­a­tion of South­east Asian Na­tions (ASEAN) meet­ings.

Jerry Vir­tu­cio, 37, of Barangay Bagong Pook, San Jose was col­lared at around 1:15 p.m. af­ter he was ac­cused of in­dis­crim­i­nate fir­ing.

Po­lice said a .45-cal­iber pis­tol with four bul­lets were re­cov­ered from Vir­tu­cio.

A 15-day gun ban has been im­posed in Metro Manila, Cal­abar­zon and Cen­tral Lu­zon start­ing Nov. 1 as part of the se­cu­rity mea­sures be­ing im­ple­mented to en­sure the safety of the lead­ers of ASEAN mem­ber coun­tries and other del­e­gates.
