Rob suspect slain in shootout

A suspected robber was killed in an alleged shootout with police in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

The suspect, who was fatally shot at the Neopolitan Jogging Place in Barangay Greater Lagro at around 2:45 a.m, has yet to be identified.

Probers said the suspect was flagged down at a checkpoint as his motorcycle had no plate number.

Police set up the checkpoint after they received a report that a motorcycle-riding man robbed a woman along Dahlia street in the same barangay.

A shootout ensued after the suspect allegedly opened fire at the lawmen. The suspect died at the scene after sustaining gunshot wounds to the head.

Police recovered a .38 caliber Armscor revolver and bullet fragments at the crime scene.

A brown shoulder bag, which was supposedly stolen prior to the shootout, was also recovered.
