If there’s one thing we love more than cars and a really good drive, it’s food! Ideally, a fun and adventurous drive is quickly followed by an equally epic meal! You can say almost everyone in the team gains a pound or twenty a few months after joining the team.

So, imagine our pleasure when we met Chef Edward ‘Ed’ Bugia. He’s no stranger to Summit Media, having contributed articles to a variety of our sister publications. He’s also good friends with a few of the guys in the team, and it was former officemate Wayne Tulio who convinced Chef Ed, himself an avid Top Gear reader, to allow us to get him on board.

Our guest co-owns a variety of restaurants, most notably Pi Breakfast and Pies, Pino, and Backyard Kitchen + Brew. Interestingly, we’ve eaten at all of these restaurants already, before we knew him personally. Chef Ed (who in fact hates being called ‘Chef ’) is also a TESDA-certified cooking and baking instructor. Outside of his culinary endeavors, he’s a sneakerhead and is always doing some physical activity whenever time permits, be it in the gym or on the basketball court.

With Chef Ed’s 2007 Honda Civic being a decade old, he’s looking at getting a new, bigger, roomier, and more versatile car to help him cope with his very busy schedule, since a typical workday has him traveling around Quezon City, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Taguig and Makati. So, in exchange for some free grub for the team, we take him car shopping!
