We talk tires with Fuel Autotek Group’s director.
You may very well call Richard Stuart Crosher the tire man. The Australian executive has over 30 years of experience in the industry, particularly in the world of tires. Yes, the guy knows those black round things very well. His work in the field has taken him to Europe, the US, and Asia for popular brands like Pirelli, Momo and Goodyear. These days, however, he finds himself traveling more often to the Philippines to oversee Fuel Autotek Philippines (FAP) as Fuel Autotek Group’s CEO and director.
The news of Momo tires coming to the country made its rounds a few months ago. And now that they’re here, fans can take their pick from the range, thanks to official distributor FAP. “Momo is a truly international brand,” Richard says of the tire and racing accessories label. He adds that it’s fashion-driven like most Italian products, and it’s poised to compete in the premium segment. “This is one of the best tire markets in the world,” he stresses.
We find out that this Formula 1 enthusiast has been coming to the Philippines for more than two decades so he understands the Filipino’s automotive needs, a plus in his line of work. He’s also pretty much accustomed to our ways, including our habits behind the wheel. Asked about his own driving style, though, he says it’s the total opposite of laid-back, steady driving—he likes high-performance sports cars, in particular. Fitting for a man responsible for bringing Momo here, don’t you think?
