SHOP FOR A CAUSE
The FilipinaZ Fair organized by the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs takes place at SM Aura Premier this month. The highly awaited annual bazaar will have furniture, home and Christmas décor, unique fashion finds and accessories, and much more. More than 90 exhibitors are taking part, offering items such as baubles and jewelry from Kit Silver by Mila Imson, All That Glitters, and Calima Jewelry by Claudia Hernandez; one-of-a-kind accessories from Eccentrics by Juliana Santos-Garrett; whimsical bags by Threads and Trends; and indigenous shawls, ponchos, and tunics by Kabayan Weavers. The fair will also have a Filipino-themed Christmas Village, with stalls for regional delicacies, sweets, and drinks. Setting the FilipinaZ Fair apart from other Christmas bazaars is its mission. Created by women, the fundraising bazaar’s proceeds specifically benefit women’s institutions, advocacies, and projects. These include the Pyschological Center in Marillac Hills that offers care for abused children; the Empowering Women Scholarship Program (for the prevention of violence against women through education); the NO to Early Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy workshops; the club’s Health, Nutrition, and Hygiene Program for malnourished children; and other health services and livelihood programs for marginalized communities in Makati and Taguig. November 4 to 6 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; SM Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, Bonifacio Global City. For inquiries, contact Imelda B. Datul at 0915.923.1032 or Rowena Alvarado at 869.4280 or 0927.862.6596.
