tEll uS hoW you mEt. WhAt WErE your fIrSt ImprESSIoNS of EAch othEr?

We were assigned to work on the same story for the school paper while in college at Ateneo. I was the writer, and Jason was the photographer. I didn’t like Jason at all back then because he fell asleep while I was doing my interview.

WhAt Do you ApprEcIAtE moSt About EAch othEr?

We’re polar opposites—I hate quiet, Jason relishes it. I love people, Jason doesn’t talk. I am words, Jason is numbers. We always say that we have different interests but we value the same things. It’s what makes us click. We like working and doing things on our own. We’re both planners and from the very beginning, we thought about the future, because we’re always very invested in the things we do. We had been dating for eight years when we got married, but we were lucky that we already knew what we wanted in life and from each other from the get-go.

JASON PROPOSED TELL US NOW

I hate cheesy, over-the-top proposals. I knew it was going to happen in 2016, but I didn’t know it was going to happen at that moment. We went to a restaurant we frequently go to, and when the dessert came, I was transfixed on the plate. Then I looked to the side and saw Jason already on his knees with the ring. It was perfect because it turned an ordinary day extraordinary. The answer was always yes—I didn’t even look at the ring until the next day.

FAVORITE MOMENTS FROM YOUR WEDDING?

It’s true what they say—it’s all a blur. We loved the reunion feeling of our reception. We didn’t have a program because we wanted everyone to talk and enjoy each other’s company. Our caterer, Margarita fores of Cibo di M, came up with something very personal: a Bicolano-themed menu and tacos.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN THIS NEW CHAPTER IN YOUR LIVES?

We love that we can still be ourselves despite being married and how quickly we adjusted to living together. We also love that we now have our own place to grow as a couple.
