This is no to­ken Csr project, it is se­ri­ous about na­tion build­ing, pro­mot­ing “Com­mu­ni­ties where peo­ple are pro­duc­tive, cre­ative, self-re­liant, and proud to be Filipino.” With the back­ing of the phil­an­thropic Zo­bel de Ayala broth­ers Jaime Au­gusto and Fer­nando (who serve as co-chairs), the foun­da­tion’s pres­i­dent ruel Maranan and se­nior pro­grams di­rec­tor Joanna Ongpin Duarte ac­tively lead ini­tia­tives in ed­u­ca­tion, teacher train­ing, com­mu­nity build­ing, indige­nous peo­ples’ ed­u­ca­tion and skills train­ing, dis­as­ter re­lief, and en­vi­ron­ment pro­tec­tion. Among the best feel­good projects in 2016 raised P17.07 mil­lion in one month alone, “enough to pro­vide 201,327 sto­ry­books for pub­lic ele­men­tary schools na­tion­wide,” ac­cord­ing to Maranan.
