KLEA PINEDA SHARLENE SAN PEDRO
VENUE: NOBU HOTEL, CITY OF DREAMS MANILA, PARAñAqUE CITY DATE: MARCH 25, 2017
Pineda has come a long way since her days in the reality-TV artista search StarStruck. After emerging as the Ultimate Female Survivor of the show’s sixth season in 2015, Klea tested the showbiz waters by starring in the drama anthologies Magpakailanman and Maynila. Her big break came late in 2016, when she took on the role of Muyak in Encantadia.
It’s safe to say she is no longer the girl with showbiz aspirations whom we first saw on StarStruck. Last March 19, Klea made the transition from girlhood to womanhood when she turned 18. Six days later, on March 25, she had a belated celebration at the poolside of the Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams Manila complex, in Parañaque City. It was a bohemian-inspired bash attended by Klea’s friends, family, and fellow stars.
Initially, Klea says, she didn’t want to hold a debut party: “Ako naman, parang okey lang na hindi mag-debut.” But she later changed her mind. “No’ng na-realize ko sa sarili ko na minsan lang mag-eighteen ’yong isang babae, sabi ko, ‘Sige, go.’”
In the end, the party turned out to be everything the debutante wanted— and more.
“Sobrang um-exceed siya sa ini-expect ko na magiging debut ko,” Klea says happily.•
Klea donned a total of three dresses at her party. “’Yong una, ’yong Leo Almodal. ’Tapos, pangalawa, si Kim Gan. ’Tapos, ’yong pangatlo, from Folded & Hung, which is ’yong ini‑endorse kong clothing line.”
The beaded green gown (above right) is Leo Almodal’s, while the white floral separates (right) are from Kim Gan. The black dress (above left) is from Folded & Hung.
Klea was also glammed up by hairstylist Mark Rosales and makeup artist Jason Delos Reyes on her big day.
