On May 6, three weeks and two days before Pia Guanio gave birth to her second child, the Aprica brand of baby strollers treated the TV personality to a baby shower at the Discovery Suites, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
The eat Bulaga! co-host, who also emcees the lifestyle program 40 Is the New 30, was joined by her family, friends, and colleagues for an afternoon of good food, fun games, and fine souvenirs.
At the time of the baby shower, Pia was already in her ninth and final month of pregnancy, but she looked fresh and at ease in her flowy white dress and strappy flats.
“It’s just easy as the first time, when I was pregnant with [first child] Scarlet,” she told reporters who covered the event, referring to her second pregnancy. “I guess when you pray a lot and then you ask God for it, He just makes everything work out.”
Pia Guanio, here with her husband Steeve Mago and their daughter Scarlet, was in her ninth month of pregnancy during the baby shower. She gave birth on May 29, 2017, to a girl who was named Soleil Brooklyn.
Pia’s on- and off-cam Dabarkads from Eat Bulaga!—( L-R) stylist Telay Robles, director Poochie Rivera, co-host Ruby Rodriguez, staffer Jaime Laciste, and co-host Patricia Tumulak—had all come from the TV show’s studios at the Broadway Centrum in Quezon City. EB’s Saturday edition usually ends before 3 p.m. The baby shower began at around 4 p.m.
Female guests (L-R) Patricia Tumulak, Taki Saito, Toni Aquino, and China Jocson played a parlor game that had them guessing the size of Pia’s tummy. Taki is also an EB co-host. Toni is the daughter of Ruby Rodriguez. China is a lifestyle correspondent of GMA-7.
