jodi meets hello kitty
Jodi Sta. Maria was all fired up at the VIP viewing of the Star Cinema romcom Dear Other Self.
The 35-year-old actress and mother of one is the lead star in the movie about a 30-year-old single and working woman whose life choices bring her to different destinations, as well as to different romantic interests (played by Joseph Marco and Xian Lim).
The movie screening was held last May 27 at the Uptown Mall Cinema, in the Bonifacio Global City complex, Taguig City. An after-party followed at Hello Kitty Café, which is located in the same mall.
Jodi happens to be a big Hello Kitty fan, so she must have thanked her lucky stars that the mall had a Hello Kitty Café. Right after the VIP viewing, she took to Facebook to share her excitement through a video post.
“VIP viewing party for Dear Other Self,” she chirpily reported. “This was organized by my best friend, Garlic Garcia. And today, we are here at the Hello Kitty Café.
“They just opened for us. Isn’t that sweet? Super happy because a lot of friends from show business and friends from church attended the viewing party. Thank you very much, Hello Kitty Café! Watch out for their opening… Nandito si Hello Kitty!”
The café formally opened last July 21.
Jodi Sta. Maria couldn’t get enough of Hello Kitty, so she had photos of herself taken with the life-size version of the famous cartoon character: with her costar Joseph Marco (left), and at Hello Kitty Café for the after-party.
With the Dear Other Self star are her fellow actresses and good friends Ruffa Gutierrez and Donita Rose (photo below, second from right and rightmost), and Ruffa’s daughter Venice Bektas (leftmost).
Jodi also posed for a posterity shot with more special people in her life: (bottom photo, L-R) Carla Martinez, Precy Florentino, Garlic Garcia, and Kuh Ledesma.
Carla played Jodi’s mother in Dear Other Self. Precy is the president of the Music Museum Group Inc., which runs, among other enterprises, the Music Museum concert and theater venue. Garlic is the headwriter of a number of ABS-CBN programs, such as The Voice of the Philippines. Kuh—the recording and concert artist behind such Original Pilipino Music (OPM) classics as “Dito Ba?” and “Till I Met You”—is also an actress and a co-founder of Music Museum.
There is an overload of cuteness at Hello Kitty Café, from the menu card to the food items.
