Kris’s new turf

Kris Aquino, who has found a new niche in social media and a fresh batch of fans among millennials, is the brand ambassador of iflix, the Asia-based video service and streaming media company.

The actress and TV host had a photo shoot for her latest product endorsement last July 4 at Siren Studios in Makati City. At the photo shoot, she told a select group of media reporters that she’s also slated to do a big project for iflix.

“I’m not allowed to say what the project is,” Kris said. “Pero since ang daldal ko, I’m gonna reveal lang something: it’s an original production.”

Barely containing her laughter, she added that the original production would be aired on her birthday next year, February 14, and while she waits for its airing date, she can’t accept any other film offers.

“I really super did research ’cause I don’t wanna be embarrassed in front of all of you today,” the articulate showbiz star told media reporters during the post-shoot interview.

She then went on to enumerate some of the selling points of iflix, such as having a cheaper price than its closest competitor and having a complete library of Filipino films. She also liked that iflix carries her favorite Hollywood TV series— The Good Wife, Closer, Friends, Gossip Girl, Mentalist, and Revenge— as well as the horror movie franchise Final Destination and the romantic flick (500) Days of Summer.

In between takes, Kris bantered with her glam team: (L-R) hair and makeup artist Jonathan Velasco; fashion stylists Kim and Boop Yap, who are sisters; and makeup artist RB Chanco.
