Mina’s Mommy Musts

Her Top Three Parenting Tips

1 Communication is key.

“When I say communication, hindi lang

mga magulang ang nagsasalita. Even the kids, they also express their feelings. It’s a two-way street. Communication… you talk to your kids, and the kids talk to you.”

2 Be involved in their lives.

“In anything they do, whether it’s school, sports, hobbies— kahit na, let’s say, wala akong alam sa basketball, but every time they have a game, I always watch. Ninenerbiyos ako,

pero I still watch because I know my presence means a lot to them. So, be involved, kahit hindi mo alam, or di mo naiintindihan. Intindihin mo na lang. Or, kunwari naintindihan mo! Basta you cheer for them. Support your kids.”

3 Values need to be taught early.

“You have to build a good foundation.
