photographer, “In the kid-chen” (page 79) and “Match point” (page 69) I was working on a ramen story with former Yummy editor-inchief Liezl Yap. We were going to shoot a ramen restaurant that just opened in Manila, so we were so excited. When we got to the mall, security stopped us and wouldn’t let us in because our permits weren’t arranged for properly. Eventually, after so many shoots at restaurants, I learned tricks on how to get friendly with mall guards so they’d let me in immediately. It’s a trade secret I’ll never tell.
