Ev­ery day is a new Dis­cov­ery, this is the tagline with which we con­clude some of our pre­sen­ta­tions and it per­fectly rep­re­sents the un­der­ly­ing con­cept be­hind the ev­ery­day ac­tiv­i­ties of Dis­cov­ery Ho­tel Man­age­ment prop­er­ties, en­com­pass­ing guests and clients, staff and in­vestors. We have ex­panded rapidly, al­ways seek­ing to pro­vide out­stand­ing ex­cel­lence in a healthy and re­laxed man­ner, en­sur­ing across-the-boards and uni­ver­sal qual­ity, while si­mul­ta­ne­ously en­sur­ing sus­tain­abil­ity and in­te­gra­tion into the con­text of each lo­ca­tion.

Over the course of 4 years of op­er­a­tions, we have in­vested around 40 mil­lion euros to ren­o­vate and re­open ho­tels and re­sorts owned by the Dis­cov­ery Por­tu­gal Fund and the re­sults have ex­ceeded our ex­pec­ta­tions. We have gone from rev­enues of 4 mil­lion euros to over 40 mil­lion euros, grow­ing more than 40% last year alone. The prop­er­ties we have ren­o­vated, where we made sub­stan­tial in­vest­ment, have more than dou­bled their rev­enues and we have achieved a par­a­digm shift in terms of tourism in Por­tu­gal, chang­ing per­cep­tions of be­ing a low-cost, low qual­ity des­ti­na­tion to a unique, high­qual­ity ex­pe­ri­ence, rec­og­nized and sought out by the most de­mand­ing of tourists, with high pur­chas­ing power.

We have no in­ten­tion of ta­per­ing our pace of in­vest­ment, ren­o­va­tion and de­vel­op­ment and we will con­tinue to bring in­no­va­tion, dif­fer­en­ti­a­tion and qual­ity to the mar­ket in ev­ery sphere in which we op­er­ate. The two ho­tels which are cur­rently be­ing ren­o­vated and will shortly be part of our DHM port­fo­lio this year it­self, are a good ex­am­ple, but we will also con­tinue to ac­tively bring pres­ti­gious in­ter­na­tional brands renowned for their qual­ity to our prop­er­ties and to Por­tu­gal. We are im­prov­ing and ex­pand­ing our se­lec­tion of Vil­las & Apart­ments and gen­er­ally in­vest­ing in ho­tels to im­prove our of­fer­ing, with the hall­mark qual­ity for which we are renowned and which has pro­duced such ex­cel­lent re­sults.

All this has only been pos­si­ble be­cause we have part­ners, in­vestors and fi­nanciers who be­lieve in us and, above all, it is thanks to our peo­ple, the mag­nif­i­cent team which makes up this uni­verse and the con­tri­bu­tion of each and ev­ery one of them.
