Hugo Espirito Santo is number one

Hugo Espirito Santo won all four events on the 2016 Pitch & Putt Circuit organized by the Federação Portuguesa de Golf (FPG, Portuguese Golf Federation), naturally finishing as number one in the National Pitch & Putt (P&P) Ranking, for the seventh consecutive year. After Rilhadas, Paredes and Braga, Espirito Santo won also at the Clube de Golfe de Cantanhede. A fabulous season in which the only trophy missing was – again – the Absolute P&P National Championship, won by amazing Diogo Gambini, just 15 years old. On the municipal course of Cantanhede, Hugo Espirito Santo put himself in the lead with a comfortable four strokes in front of Luis Pereira, completing the two rounds in 108 (56+52) strokes, par for the course, with his second round being the best in the tournament among 26 players. Luis Pereira, playing at home, completed rounds of 54 and 58, while third place went to Antonio Tendeiro, from Quinta das Lágrimas (56+57), five strokes from the champion. In the National P&P Ranking Hugo Espirito Santo finished with 910 points, leaving Diogo Gambini in second place (a distant 520). Arnaldo Paredes was third (340). Hugo Espírito Santo fez o pleno em 2016 e venceu as quatro provas do Circuito de Pitch & Putt (P&P) da Federação Portuguesa de Golfe (FPG), terminando, naturalmente, como nº1 do Ranking Nacional de P&P pelo sétimo ano consecutivo. Depois de Rilhadas, Paredes e Braga, Espírito Santo triunfou também no Clube de Golfe de Cantanhede. Uma época fabulosa em que só lhe escapou de novo o Campeonato Nacional Absoluto de P&P, arrebatado pelo surpreendente Diogo Gambini, de apenas 15 anos. No campo municipal de Cantanhede, HES impôs-se com uma vantagem confortável de 4 pancadas sobre Luís Pereira, ao somar 108 pancadas, a Par do campo, após voltas de 56 e 52, sendo a sua segunda o melhor resultado do torneio, entre 26 participantes. Luís Pereira, a jogar em casa, agregou voltas de 54 e 58, enquanto o 3º lugar foi para António Tendeiro, da Quinta das Lágrimas, com 56 e 57, a 5 pancadas do campeão. No Ranking Nacional de P&P, totalizou 910 pontos, deixando Diogo Gambini no 2º lugar com distantes 520 pontos. Arnaldo Paredes foi 3º com 340.
