At a time when one sees an unprecedented boom in national tourism, the “Golf in Portugal” product cannot waste the opportunity to unite the golf industry around a unifying goal so as to increment – even more – the weight of golf in national economy. The various entities running tourism and sports in the various aspects should make an effort towards full understanding, aiming at creating the best conditions so as to allow the product “Golf in Portugal” to be dynamized, as this is an activity that generates huge returns for the country. Portugal is a prime destination for European and world golf. And a proof of this are the various prizes granted to the courses and the hotels during the last years, especially in the Algarve region. In each given year the number of rounds played has increased, especially in this region. It would be interesting for this understanding to encompass all the regions in Portugal, with different priorities for each region on the mainland ot the islands. To invest in youth of school age and in the creation of small municipal or private infrastructures to captivate youth to play the game. In terms of schools, the creation of a non-mandatory subject where the practice and its rules would be taught, so as to increase the appeal of the game. The efforts and the dedication of the clubs and organizations through the year, organizing thousands of tournaments, as well as the enrolment and trainiong of future players. To promote partnerships with the most mediatic clubs so that international golf events taking part in Portugal get even more visibility in the media. There have lately been a series of international events that have very successfully taken place, which clearly show the organizational skills existing – the only thing missing being the relevant private and institutional support.
Numa altura em que se assiste a um boom sem precedentes no turismo nacional, o produto “Golfe em Portugal” não pode desperdiçar esta oportunidade em unir a indústria do Golfe em torno de um objetivo agregador de forma a incrementar e dinamizar ainda mais o peso do golfe na economia. As diversas entidades ligadas ao turismo e ao desporto nas mais variadas vertentes, deveriam fazer um esforço de entendimento pleno, de modo a criar as melhores condições para que o produto “Golfe em Portugal” fosse dinamizado, sendo que esta atividade como todos sabemos é geradora de enormes receitas para o país. Portugal é um destino de excelência para o golfe europeu e mundial. Prova disso são os vários prémios atribuídos ao longo dos últimos anos aos campos e à hotelaria, com especial destaque para a região do Algarve. Cada ano que passa o número de voltas efetuadas tem vindo a crescer, em especial nesta região. Seria interessante que esse entendimento pleno das entidades para o setor turístico/golfe, englobasse todas as regiões do país, sendo que as prioridades de desenvolvimento são diferentes em cada região continental e regiões autónomas. Apostar nas camadas jovens ao nível escolar e na criação de infraestruturas municipais ou privadas de pequena dimensão, de forma a cativarem os jovens para a prática da modalidade. No âmbito escolar a criação de uma disciplina não obrigatória, em que a prática e suas regras essenciais de jogo fossem ministradas de modo a incutir o gosto pelo golfe. É de salientar o esforço e dedicação que os clubes e organizações desenvolvem ao longo do ano, tornando possível a realização de milhares de torneios, bem como a captação e formação de futuros praticantes. Promover parcerias com os clubes desportivos mais mediaticos, para que durante as competições nos seus estádios, os eventos de golfe internacionais a realizar em Portugal, sejam ainda mais visíveis nos meios de comunicação social. Ultimamente têm sido realizados com grande sucesso eventos de âmbito internacional, o que prova que a capacidade organizativa existe faltando somente mais apoios institucionais e privados.
