CAFE DEL DOGE GOLF TROPHY

The Grand Finale of the Italian circuit Cafe Del Doge Golf Trophy was held this year in Vilamoura with fifty players and was a success. The trophy, according to the Italian organization “dedicated to golf and coffee lovers,” has been taking place for 12 years. The qualifying rounds involve 2,500 players and takes place on 26 Italian courses where the winners qualify for the two regional finals (north and south). The champions of these two semi-finals competed in the Algarve final (Cafe Del Doge & Friends), with two rounds in stableford singles and one in pairs at Dom Pedro Victoria, Dom Pedro Old Course and Dom Pedro Pinhal. We are very happy for this final in the Algarve, with fantastic courses, good weather and a great welcome,” said Alessandro Cremon, Italian tour operator who split the final organization with Bernardo Della Mea (Cafe Del Doge).

The Gross winner in the Algarve was the young Jacopo Tacchini with 67 points (31-36) followed by Salvatore Ferreri with 56. In the 1st category Tacchini also won with 74 points, followed by Pietro Carlin with 67. The first Lady was Caterina Carlin with 63 points. In the 2nd category, the best was Diego Borchia with 64 points, followed by Erica Zanirato 64 and Paola Vecchio 61.

The 15 trophies of the final were handed out during a gala dinner at Dom Pedro Victoria, which the Italian visitors turned into a big golf party.

In addition to the Dom Pedro courses in Vilamoura, visitors took advantage of the trip to the Algarve to play in other reference courses in the region, such as Vale do Lobo and Vila Sol.

O troféu, segundo a organização italiana “dedicado aos amantes de golfe e de café”, realiza-se há 12 anos. A fase de qualificação envolve 2.500 jogadores decorre em 26 campos de Itália e os vencedores apuram-se para as duas finais regionais (norte e sul). Os campeões destas duas finais disputaram a finalíssima no Algarve (Caffe Del Doge & Friends), com duas voltas em stableford individual e uma volta a pares, nos campos Dom Pedro Victoria, Dom Pedro Old Course e Dom Pedro Pinhal.

“Estamos muito felizes por esta final no Algarve, com campos fantásticos, bom tempo e um excelente acolhimento”, disse Alessandro Cremon, operador turístico italiano que dividiu a organização da final com Bernardo Della Mea (Caffe Del Doge).

O vencedor gross no Algarve foi o jovem Jacopo Tacchini com 67 pontos (31-36) seguido de Salvatore Ferreri com 56. Na 1ª categoria ganhou também Tacchini com 74 pontos, seguido de Pietro Carlin com 67. A primeira senhora foi Caterina Carlin com 63 pontos. Na 2ª categoria venceu Diego Borchia com 64 pontos, seguido de Erica Zanirato 64 e Paola Vecchio 61.

Os 15 troféus da final foram distribuídos durante o jantar de gala no Dom Pedro Victoria, que os visitantes italianos transformaram numa grande festa do golfe.

Além dos campos Dom Pedro em Vilamoura os visitantes transalpinos aproveitaram a deslocação ao Algarve para jogarem noutros campos de referência da região como Vale do Lobo e Vila Sol.
