ISC or­gan­ises ‘In­ter School Yoga Cham­pi­onship’

In­dian Sports Cen­tre (ISC) re­cently or­gan­ised ‘In­ter School Yoga Cham­pi­onship’ at

MES In­dian School. Around 250 stu­dents from eleven schools par­tic­i­pated in the com­pe­ti­tion. Olive In­ter­na­tional School (OIS) bagged the ti­tle of ‘Over­all Cham­pion’. MES In­dian School se­cured the Run­ners Up ti­tle. The com­pe­ti­tion was di­vided into two cat­e­gories in­clud­ing ‘Team Cham­pi­onship’ of U-12 and U18 boys and girls and ‘In­di­vid­ual Cham­pi­onship’ of U-12 and U-18 boys and girls. In U-12 Boys Team Cham­pi­onship, OIS won the com­pe­ti­tion fol­lowed by Ra­ja­giri Pub­lic School as se­cond run­ners up. In U-12 Girls Team Cham­pi­onship, OIS bagged the win­ner ti­tle and DPS Mod­ern In­dian School(DPS-MIS) was the first run­ners up and Shan­tinike­tan In­dian School(SIS) as se­cond run­ners up. In U-18 Boys Team Cham­pi­onship, MES In­dian School won the com­pe­ti­tion with DPS-MIS as first run­ners up and Birla Pub­lic School (BPS) as se­cond run­ners up. In U-18 Girls Team Cham­pi­onship, BPS bagged the win­ner ti­tle and MES In­dian School was the first and se­cond run­ners up.

In the In­di­vid­ual Cham­pi­onship Cat­e­gory U12 boys, Ab­hi­ram Prakash, a stu­dent from BPS won the com­pe­ti­tion. Chris­tiano Vargh­ese of OIS and Ash­wath Karthikeyan of DPSMIS were the first and se­cond run­ners up, re­spec­tively. In the In­di­vid­ual Cham­pi­onship Cat­e­gory U12 girls, Padala Vidyusha, a stu­dent from MES In­dian School won the com­pe­ti­tion. Mi­tra Karthikeyan of BPS and Lak­shmi S Ku­mar of MES In­dian School were the first and se­cond run­ners up, re­spec­tively.

In the In­di­vid­ual Cham­pi­onship Cat­e­gory U18 boys, Ji­breel, a stu­dent from SIS won the com­pe­ti­tion. De­vadutt Balakr­ish­nan of MES In­dian School and Mikhael Jo­phan of MES In­dian School were the first and se­cond run­ners up, re­spec­tively. In the In­di­vid­ual Cham­pi­onship Cat­e­gory U18 girls, Liyana shahul of MES In­dian school, bagged the win­ning ti­tle. Rak­sha Prakash and Shreyee Bhowmik of BPS were first and se­cond run­ners up, re­spec­tively.

Cap­tain Kapil Kaushik, De­fense At­taché at the Em­bassy of In­dia, was the chief guest and Na­dia Mo­hammed Al Saleh, Khalid Fakhroo and Hameeda, Prin­ci­pal of MES In­dian school, were the guest of hon­ours. Ni­lang­shu Dey , Pres­i­dent of ISC, wel­comed the au­di­ence dur­ing the clos­ing and prize dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony. He ap­pre­ci­ated the con­tri­bu­tion of all par­tic­i­pat­ing schools in en­cour­ag­ing their stu­dents. He also high­lighted about var­i­ous ini­tia­tives taken by ISC in or­ga­niz­ing var­i­ous in­ter-school tour­na­ments. Cap­tain Kapil Kaushik ap­plauded the en­tire team of ISC to reach to an­other height of suc­cess within such short span of its in­cep­tion. Khalid Fakhroo ap­pre­ci­ated the In­dian com­mu­nity for pro­mot­ing Yoga to the chil­dren. Hameeda ap­plauded the role of ISC in de­vel­op­ing a sports cul­ture among the In­di­ans and pro­vid­ing the op­por­tu­nity to all the stu­dents for par­tic­i­pa­tion.
