QV car­ries out beach clean-up at Al Wakrah

Qatar Vol­un­teer (QV) re­cently or­gan­ised its 10th an­nual beach clean-up aware­ness cam­paign at Al Wakrah Fam­ily Beach in part­ner­ship with Qatar Green Build­ing Coun­cil.

QV in­vited the young stu­dents of Birla Pub­lic School, The Next Gen­er­a­tion School, Doha In­sti­tute for Grad­u­ate Stud­ies and The Boys Scout of Amer­ica Unit 400, who par­tic­i­pated en­thu­si­as­ti­cally to show their sup­port. Lots of fam­i­lies and in­di­vid­u­als from dif­fer­ent na­tion­al­i­ties also joined the cause. The fo­cus was on clean­ing up the un­usual lit­ter and de­bris found on the beaches of Qatar like bro­ken glass, bot­tle caps, cig­a­rette butts etc.

More than 150 vol­un­teers took part in the event. The QV Or­gan­is­ing Com­mit­tee dis­trib­uted prizes to the win­ning team and ap­pre­ci­a­tion cer­tifi­cates to the children.
