United Spar­tans wins QECC cricket league

Team United Spar­tans be­came cham­pion of Qatar Ex­pat Cricket Com­mu­nity’s (QECC) Cham­pi­ons League Sea­son-2. In the fi­nal held re­cently at old Ideal In­dian School ground, United Spar­tans beat Bails Qatar by 83 runs.

Bat­ting first, United Spar­tans scored 180/7. Their star bats­men were Sul­fikar and Liju. In re­sponse, Bails Qatar got all out in 15.4 overs. Sul­fikar Sulu of United Spar­tans got the man of the match for scor­ing 58 runs from 29 balls and hav­ing two catches.

Firoz Khan from Norva C was given the best bowler of the league for get­ting 17 wick­ets in six matches. Muneeb K P from Ker­ala CC got the best bats­man of the league. He scored 298 runs in six matches. QECC of­fi­cials dis­trib­uted the tro­phies and prizes among the play­ers and the teams. They also thanked the spon­sors and the teams for mak­ing the league a big suc­cess.
