SIS girls win CBSE Qatar Clus­ter Hand­ball Tour­na­ment

Six In­dian schools par­tic­i­pated in CBSE (Cen­tral Board of Se­condary Ed­u­ca­tion, In­dia) Qatar Clus­ter Hand­ball Tour­na­ment, which was hosted by Shan­tinike­tan In­dian School (SIS) con­cluded re­cently. DPS-Mod­ern In­dian School, Birla Pub­lic School, Ideal In­dian School, MES In­dia School, Al Khor In­ter­na­tional School (AKIS) and SIS par­tic­i­pated in the two-day event that saw some keenly con­tested matches in the U-17 and U-19 cat­e­gories.

The SIS Girls Hand­ball Team won the U-17 ti­tle. The U-17 Boys ti­tle was won by AKIS, who de­feated DPS in the fi­nal. MES In­dian School bagged the U-19 ti­tle. The win­ning teams will travel to In­dia to par­tic­i­pate in the na­tional tour­na­ment to be held in New Delhi from Novem­ber 14 to 18.

Shi­habudeen Pu­lath, Se­nior VicePrin­ci­pal, and Dudley O’Con­nor, Vice Prin­ci­pal, gave away the prizes to the win­ners and con­grat­u­lated Tan­veer Me­hdi, Head of Phys­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion De­part­ment, and his team for the suc­cess.
