Hun­dreds stranded af­ter train de­rails in Mon­go­lia

There were no fa­tal­i­ties as over 300 peo­ple were left stranded when a train de­railed in south-east­ern Mon­go­lia early Sunday, Chi­nese state me­dia re­ported. The in­ci­dent hap­pened about 7:30am amid heavy rain­fall, ac­cord­ing to Xin­hua news agency. The train had been trav­el­ling from Mon­go­lia’s capital Ulan Ba­tor to Zamiin-Uud soum in the coun­try’s south-east­ern province of Dornogovi. There were many in­juries in the de­rail­ment, Xin­hua re­ported, with emer­gency ser­vices rush­ing to of­fer as­sis­tance.
