Clean-up cam­paign by MME

The Min­istry of Mu­nic­i­pal­ity and En­vi­ron­ment (MME) has said its Gen­eral Clean­li­ness Depart­ment has been ex­ert­ing ef­forts on a daily ba­sis to clean all streets, pub­lic squares and key fa­cil­i­ties across the coun­try with a good num­ber of spe­cialised equip­ment and work teams.

Yes­ter­day, the depart­ment cleaned main streets, pave­ments and lanes in some ar­eas fall­ing un­der Al Daayen Mu­nic­i­pal­ity.

Dur­ing the clean-up, sand that had ac­cu­mu­lated along roads was re­moved to ease traf­fic flow and to main­tain clean­li­ness and beauty, the MME said in a state­ment. Work teams of the depart­ment also reg­u­larly clean the Doha Cor­niche as it is con­sid­ered a key des­ti­na­tion, at­tract­ing a large num­ber of peo­ple.
