Man kills woman’s father over marriage rebuff
A man was stabbed to death after he refused to let a jobless villager marry his daughter in Maharashtra, police said yesterday. Another relative was grievously injured in the late Friday incident in the Datada-Budruk village, when Sachin Narayan Surnar attacked Kailash Shinde. Surnar wanted to marry Shinde’s daughter. However, Shinde rejected the proposal as Surnar was unemployed. An enraged Surnar along with four friends mounted an attack on the Shinde household and demanded answers. But before the father could respond, he was attacked with a long sharp knife, killing him on the spot. The relative was injured when he tried to intervene.
