The Em­bassy of In­dia in Qatar re­ceived 3,558 com­plaints from In­dian na­tion­als in 2013 com­pared to 3,385 com­plaints in 2012. The Labour and Com­mu­nity Wel­fare Sec­tion of the Em­bassy re­ceived 1,176 com­plaints from Jan­uary to 24 April 2014, said the In­dian Em­bassy in a re­lease.

The Em­bassy reg­is­tered 241 deaths in 2013 com­pared to 237 in 2012, while the to­tal num­ber of deaths reg­is­tered so far this year is 89. The Em­bassy or­gan­ised its monthly open house in which Am­bas­sador San­jiv Arora and other of­fi­cials met all the com­plainants, dis­cussed their prob­lems and as­sured them that the Em­bassy would ac­tively fol­low up their cases with the au­thor­i­ties con­cerned in the govern­ment of Qatar.
