NA­TIONAL IN­SURANCE SCHEME'S NEW IDEN­TITY

Dr Faleh Mo­hamed Hus­sain Ali, act­ing CEO of the Na­tional Health In­surance Com­pany, un­veiled the new name and logo for the Na­tional Health In­surance Scheme, Phase 2 of which be­gan on April 30.

The Na­tional Health In­surance Scheme will op­er­ate un­der the name Seha, which means 'health' in Ara­bic, said Dr Ali, un­veil­ing the new name and logo at a press con­fer­ence last month. Phase 1 of the scheme, in which all Qatari women over the age of 12 were cov­ered, has been met with “sat­is­fac­tion and ac­cep­tance” and Phase 2 will fur­ther help the com­pany catch mi­nor glitches and un­der­stand the sys­tem bet­ter, in prepa­ra­tion for the larger roll­out in the com­ing years that will cover all res­i­dents. Phase 2 will see more in­surance providers join­ing the net­work, he added. He also said the tar­iffs will be re­viewed an­nu­ally to ad­just for the cost of new tech­nol­ogy, ris­ing cost of liv­ing, in­fla­tion, etc. He de­clined to re­veal how much premium the govern­ment is pay­ing for na­tion­als, say­ing it was still un­der study and the fi­nal fig­ure can only be con­fi­dently re­vealed at the end of Phase 2.
