He is the au­thor of the New York Times best­seller Up­lift­ing Ser­vice and 14 other books on ser­vice, busi­ness and in­spi­ra­tion.

THE FOOT­BALL FIVE’S WORLD CHAM­PI­ONSHIP May 2, 9 a.m. Qatar Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion

QALCO, sup­ported by Qatar Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion, is or­gan­is­ing a tour­na­ment F5WC for am­a­teur foot­ball en­thu­si­asts above the age of 16. Lo­cal qual­i­fy­ing rounds in Qatar will be held on Fri­days and Satur­days in April and May 2014. Var­i­ous group rounds will be held, in which win­ning teams will pro­ceed from the pre-qual­i­fy­ing stage to the Qatar Fi­nals.

PROJECT QATAR May 12-15 Qatar Na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre

Project Qatar is now es­tab­lished as Qatar's most im­por­tant ex­hi­bi­tion for high­light­ing the lat­est prod­ucts and ser­vices needed for Qatar's fast grow­ing con­struc­tion sec­tor and has be­come a des­ti­na­tion of choice for re­gional and in­ter­na­tional in­dus­try pro­fes­sion­als.

HWW WORK­SHOP: WHEN IT COMES TO MAR­KET­ING, WHAT YOU SAY MAT­TERS May 14, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Grand Hy­att Doha

Con­ducted by with Fran­cis Van Wyk, this work­shop will pro­vide en­trepreneurs with in­sights on how to au­then­ti­cally po­si­tion them­selves as the go-to ex­pert in their in­dus­try and cre­ate a per­sonal brand-driven mar­ket­ing mes­sage that gets their tar­get au­di­ence to res­onate with them so their mar­ket­ing is more ef­fec­tive and they fill their busi­ness, pro­grammes, cour­ses and work­shops faster.


At this ex­hi­bi­tion by grad­u­at­ing stu­dents from all BFA and MFA de­gree pro­grammes at VCUQatar, visi­tors will have the op­por­tu­nity to view emerg­ing tal­ent in the fields of Graphic De­sign, Fash­ion De­sign, In­te­rior De­sign, Paint­ing and Print Mak­ing, and De­sign Stud­ies.

FRI­DAY NIGHT LIVE May 2, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Mu­seum of Is­lamic Arts Park

The Mu­seum of Is­lamic Art presents a new mu­si­cal se­ries in part­ner­ship with lo­cal in­ter­na­tional schools, who will be bring­ing their mu­sic stu­dents to show­case their tal­ents to the pub­lic at the MIA Park. The first of this se­ries will fea­ture stu­dents from Doha Col­lege in their first per­for­mance out­side their school walls.

CARMINA BURANA AND THE PLAN­ETS May 11, 7:30 p.m. Qatar Na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre

So­prano Anya Matanovic, tenor Mar­cus Shelton and bari­tone Jochen Kupfer, con­ducted Alastair Wil­lis will de­liver a heav­enly per­for­mance, of Gus­tav Holst's The Plan­ets and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana along with the Qatar Phil­har­monic Chil­dren's Choir and MDR Ra­dio Choir of Leipzig.
