Qatar Tourism Au­thor­ity an­nounced that it will host the first ever Qatar Summer Fes­ti­val, a two-month long entertainment ex­trav­a­ganza that will go on un­til the end of Septem­ber.

Start­ing Au­gust 4, Qatar Tourism Au­thor­ity will host the Qatar Summer Fes­ti­val at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions around the city, giv­ing cit­i­zens, res­i­dents and vis­i­tors a myr­iad of ways of keep­ing them­selves en­ter­tained. Rashed Al Qurese, Direc­tor of Mar­ket­ing and Pro­mo­tions of QTA, said: “Qatar Summer Fes­ti­val 2014 is part of QTA's ef­forts to make Qatar the best tourist des­ti­na­tion for fam­i­lies in the re­gion. Through the summer fes­ti­val we will of­fer qual­ity per­for­mances to present Qatar's var­i­ous entertainment op­tions and warm hos­pi­tal­ity.”

The fes­ti­val will in­clude evening wa­ter foun­tain shows on the Cor­niche, an Entertainment City at the Doha Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­ter, an in­flat­able Aqua Park in Al Wakra, out­door ac­tiv­i­ties such as bike rid­ing, kayak­ing and other games in Al Khor and var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties in malls across Qatar in­clud­ing com­mer­cial sales and raf­fles. DEC will fea­ture a Freeze Zone, an Ad­ven­ture Zone with rac­ing tracks and wall climb­ing, an In­ter­ac­tive Zone with video games and des­ig­nated ar­eas for tod­dlers, stage per­for­mances and dining. Young and old alike will en­joy the fab­u­lous Dis­ney on Ice per­for­mances that will be held at the Qatar Na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre be­tween Septem­ber 24 and 27, which will also be the fi­nal day of the fes­ti­val.
