“TThe Min­istry of In­te­rior launched Qatar's first hightech air­port ser­vice ve­hi­cle at the de­par­ture area of the new Ha­mad In­ter­na­tional Air­port.

he ve­hi­cle, the first of its kind in Qatar, is ex­pected to in­ten­sify se­cu­rity mea­sures at the air­port,” Air­port Im­mi­gra­tion Depart­ment di­rec­tor Lt Col Mo­hamed Rashid al-Mazrouei told a lo­cal English daily. Re­port­edly, the stan­dard golf­car-sized, so­lar-pow­ered ve­hi­cle is equipped with a por­ta­ble finger­print and doc­u­ment scan­ner and is con­nected to the data base of gov­ern­ment agen­cies in Qatar and in­ter­na­tional se­cu­rity or­gan­i­sa­tions like In­ter­pol, in ad­di­tion to video cam­eras pro­vid­ing 360-de­gree views. The ve­hi­cle will also be used to trans­port pas­sen­gers in need across the mam­moth air­port, like those run­ning late for their flights.
