Cars Taxi, a taxi fran­chise op­er­a­tor with a pres­ence in sev­eral Gulf ci­ties, launched 500 new taxis un­der Karwa, in part­ner­ship with Qatar-based Profit Trad­ing & Con­tract­ing Company.

The le­mon yel­low-roofed taxis will start rolling out im­me­di­ately, it was an­nounced at the un­veil­ing cer­e­mony held un­der the pa­tron­age of HE Jas­sim Saif Ahmed Al Su­laiti, Min­is­ter of Trans­port and Chair­man of Mowasalat. Group Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor of Cars Taxi Group, Ab­dulla Sul­tan Al Sab­bagh, was en­thu­si­as­tic in his ap­pre­ci­a­tion for Karwa, say­ing the process of get­ting the deal off the ground was ex­tremely easy and ef­fi­cient. “500 ve­hi­cles will be added to the fleet in phase one, fol­lowed by 300 cars. We are bring­ing many in­no­va­tive ser­vices like hy­brid cars, ve­hi­cles for the phys­i­cally chal­lenged and for women and fam­i­lies,” he said. He fur­ther promised that the whole fleet of cars will be equipped with Mowasalat-ap­proved me­ters, nav­i­ga­tion sys­tems, taxi track­ing and dis­patch sys­tems, as well as speed mon­i­tor­ing to en­sure taxis stay within 100 km per hour within city lim­its.
