Qatar To­gether, a new ini­tia­tive launched by Maryam Al Subaiey and “a group of friends”, will strive to high­light inspiring sto­ries of Qataris who are push­ing bound­aries and shift­ing par­a­digms.

Maryam Al Sy­baiey, Founder of QTa­lent, in her open­ing re­marks men­tioned how this non-profit or­gan­i­sa­tion will strive to sup­port na­tion­als and help them be the best of what they can be. “And we want to take this op­por­tu­nity to also cel­e­brate and thank ex­pats, who ir­re­spec­tive of where they are from, have al­ways been en­thu­si­as­tic about con­tribut­ing to our suc­cess,” she said. On the in­au­gu­ral night, three sto­ries were pre­sented. Mariam Al Kubaisi, a Sten­den uni­ver­sity stu­dent, spoke about Plat­inum Events Qatar which will for­mally be launched in Jan­uary of next year. Next Amal Al Sham­mari shared her ex­pe­ri­ences in­volv­ing cu­ri­ous and well-mean­ing ex­pats mis­un­der­stand­ing the Qatari cul­ture, which led her to start Em­brace Doha. The main event of the evening was un­doubt­edly the air­ing of the doc­u­men­tary which fol­lowed seven young Qataris who went to a re­mote vil­lage in Brazil to start work on build­ing a school. Five of them par­tic­i­pated in a panel dis­cus­sion at the end to talk about their ex­pe­ri­ences.
