Lead­ing au­to­mo­bile brands are ex­pected to show­case their lat­est mod­els and tech­nol­ogy at the fifth edi­tion of the four-day Qatar In­ter­na­tional Mo­tor Show (QIMS), which will kick off at Qatar Na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre on Fe­bru­ary 6.

THAMAD AL AB­DAN he show, in which Qatar To­day is the me­dia part­ner, is con­sid­ered the most im­por­tant mo­tor­ing event in the Mid­dle East and it has at­tracted 150,000 car lovers and trade pro­fes­sion­als in 2014. Ex­hibitors in­clude many sports, luxury and midrange car deal­ers as well as car ac­ces­sory com­pa­nies that will take part in the lat­est auto and per­for­mance trends.

Auto ma­jors such as Volk­swa­gen and BMW have con­firmed par­tic­i­pa­tion in the event, which is be­ing hosted by Qatar Tourism Author­ity. While the soft open­ing of QIMS will be on the first day, it will be open to the public from Fe­bru­ary 7 to 10.

“The show high­lights the most cre­ative car de­signs and the lat­est tech­nol­ogy used in the au­to­mo­tive in­dus­try. In this per­spec­tive, the show im­parts an air charged with adrenalin that will trig­ger the pas­sion and en­thu­si­asm of both vis­i­tors and par­tic­i­pants,” says Ha­mad Al Ab­dan, Direc­tor of Ex­hi­bi­tions at Qatar Tourism Author­ity.

New BMWs to make a de­but

Al­far­dan Au­to­mo­biles will put on dis­play the all-new BMW X6M and BMW X5M, which will be mak­ing their de­but at the BMW stand at the event. An­other star at­trac­tion will be the un­veil­ing of the all­new BMW 2 Se­ries Con­vert­ible, with an eye-catch­ing and grace­ful de­sign that of­fers a re­fresh­ing brand of open-air driv­ing plea­sure.

Two new Land Rovers for the re­gion

Al­far­dan Pre­mier Mo­tors will be re­veal­ing two of Jaguar Land Rover's new­est ve­hi­cles to the re­gion for the first time: the new Jaguar XE and the Range Rover Sport SVR. Show­cased along­side th­ese mod­els will be Jaguar Land Rover's 2015 model year range of ve­hi­cles.

Volk­swa­gen's grown up cars and con­cept cars

Volk­swa­gen Mid­dle East will also show­case the tech­ni­cally-per­fected and vis­ually pre­cise new Touareg and the all-new, grown-up Volk­swa­gen Jetta.

Volk­swa­gen will present dy­namic con­cept cars – the Golf R 400, the ex­tremely sporty car de­vel­oped by Volk­swa­gen R GmbH, and the GTI Road­ster, Vi­sion Gran Turismo, the su­per GTI from the PlaySta­tion 3 game “Gran Turismo 6.”
