THE PRINCE OF DAKAR
Nasser Al Attiyah secured his second victory in the Dakar Rally after nearly two weeks of leading in the race.
Four years after he won his first Dakar Rally, Nasser Al Attiyah did it once again this year, coming in at first place at the end of the 9,000 km race that ran through Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. Driving an X-raid Mini with his co-driver, Frenchman Matthieu Baumel, the Qatar World Rally Team finished a full 35 minutes ahead of the second- place team. He was accorded a hero's welcome on his return home. Speaking to a local English daily, he said what made the victory even more worthwhile was a personal congratulatory phone call from HH the Emir.
