The Qatar Tourism Author­ity is once again mulling over the pos­si­bil­ity of float­ing ho­tels to cater to the de­mands of the World Cup in 2022.

In a state­ment QTA has said it will lease at least 6,000 rooms in cruise ships dur­ing the 2022 World Cup. Speak­ing to Qatar News Agency at an in­ter­na­tional cruise ship expo in Miami. “Over the past few years, we has es­tab­lished a num­ber of strong re­la­tion­ships with in­ter­na­tional cruise op­er­a­tors as well as with other spe­cial­ists in­volved in the in­dus­try. This has proved to be of great im­por­tance es­pe­cially that Qatar will be ex­ten­sively ben­e­fit­ing from cruise ships over the 2022 World Cup, as a means of pro­vid­ing ad­di­tional ac­com­mo­da­tion sup­ply for fans and vis­i­tors over the pe­riod,” the QTA said.
