Siemens has signed a con­tract with Dol­phin En­ergy Lim­ited, head­quar­tered in Abu Dhabi, to ex­tend for an ad­di­tional 18 years the ex­ist­ing ser­vice agree­ment for aero de­riv­a­tive gas tur­bine trains op­er­at­ing at the Dol­phin Gas Project. Un­der the terms of the new agree­ment, Siemens will pro­vide ser­vice and main­te­nance for the nine in­dus­trial Trent 60 aero de­riv­a­tive gas tur­bines op­er­at­ing at Dol­phin En­ergy's gas com­pres­sion and pro­cess­ing plant, lo­cated at Ras Laf­fan, Qatar. The project was the world`s first Trent gas tur­bine me­chan­i­cal drive in­stal­la­tion. The con­tract will be man­aged lo­cally through the Siemens Qatar team both at Dol­phin En­ergy Tower in Doha and at the main op­er­a­tional site at Ras Laf­fan In­dus­trial City.

A sign­ing cer­e­mony was held at Dol­phin En­ergy's head­quar­ters in Abu Dhabi dur­ing which Adel Ahmed Al­buainain, CEO of Dol­phin En­ergy, and Fatih Sakiz, CEO of Siemens Qatar, signed the con­tract in the pres­ence of se­nior rep­re­sen­ta­tives from both com­pa­nies.
