Doha Film In­sti­tute an­nounces Nuri Bilge Cey­lan and Alexsandr Sokurov as Qumra Masters, who along with pre­vi­ously an­nounced Qumra Masters Naomi Kawase and Lu­cre­cia Mar­tel are con­firmed to par­tic­i­pate in the se­cond edi­tion of the event.

To be held be­tween March 4 and 9, Qumra is ded­i­cated to fos­ter­ing the works of first and se­cond-time film­mak­ers with the Masters lead­ing a se­ries of classes and one-onone ad­vi­sory ses­sions with par­tic­i­pat­ing Qumra projects and in­dus­try pro­fes­sion­als from around the world. A se­lec­tion of films by th­ese leg­endary film­mak­ers will also be screened for Doha au­di­ences dur­ing the event. In ad­di­tion to rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the 30 projects from Qatar, the MENA re­gion and around the world whose projects are men­tored through the ini­tia­tive, mem­bers of the lo­cal and re­gional cre­ative in­dus­tries are also in­vited to par­tic­i­pate in Qumra, where they will have the op­por­tu­nity to at­tend a se­ries of net­work­ing events, Qumra Mas­ter Classes, and daily screen­ings of films by the Qumra Masters and re­cip­i­ents of fund­ing from the In­sti­tute, fol­lowed by ques­tion-and-an­swer ses­sions.
