HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Ha­mad Al Thani pa­tro­n­ises the open­ing of the 16th Doha Fo­rum, which was or­gan­ised by the Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs in col­lab­o­ra­tion with lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional re­search and study cen­tres.

Held un­der the ti­tle “Sta­bil­ity and Pros­per­ity for All”, the Fo­rum at­tracted pres­i­dents, in­ter­na­tional per­son­al­i­ties, busi­ness­men and aca­demics who were among the 58 ex­perts who spoke on dif­fer­ent is­sues like econ­omy, en­ergy, se­cu­rity and de­fence.

Sev­eral top­ics like “In­ter­na­tional and re­gional sta­tus quo and the means to meet the chal­lenges”, “The Mid­dle East: To­wards more sta­bil­ity and pros­per­ity”, “The Global Econ­omy: where to?”, “Global se­cu­rity: Cur­rent re­al­ity and chal­lenge”, “Gulf Se­cu­rity: Di­a­logue in­stead con­flict” and “Achieve­ment of the in­ter­na­tional agenda for sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment in light of the cur­rent sit­u­a­tion of the global econ­omy” were all on the agenda. Sec­re­tary- Gen­eral of the United Na­tions Ban Ki-Moon de­liv­ered the key­note ad­dress at the open­ing of the fo­rum.
