In yet another announcement for the benefit of tourists in the country, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), Qatar Airways (QA) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) came up with a new visa rule last month. Passengers with a minimum transit time of five hours at Hamad International Airport (HIA) will be able to stay in Qatar for up to four days without applying for an entry visa ahead of time.

“Whether travelling for business or leisure, we want to enrich the journey of all of our passengers and are restructuring our fares to reflect this initiative and to promote stopovers to travellers,” said Qatar Airways' Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker in a press statement.

Earlier, in August this year, QA, QTA and VFS Global Group had signed a deal to increase the number of visitors in the country.
