The Min­istry of Awqaf and Is­lamic Af­fairs has launched an up­dated ver­sion of a mo­bile ap­pli­ca­tion for pil­grims from Qatar to help them re­main con­nected with Qatar's Haj Mis­sion in Makkah dur­ing the pil­grim­age. The app ‘Hajj Guide' is avail­able on An­droid and Ap­ple store and will help pil­grims send their lo­ca­tion to the mis­sion in case they lose the way, ac­cord­ing to Qatar News Agency.

“The app will en­able the pil­grims to di­rectly con­tact the help desk at the mis­sion and send their lo­ca­tion if they need any help,” said Ab­dul Hadi Obaid Al Marri, Head of IT Unit at the Mis­sion. “The help desk could be con­tacted through the app on 132 from Qatar and 8003040444 from Saudi Ara­bia,” he added.

The app in­cludes sev­eral ser­vices like de­tails re­lated to the Hajj in­clud­ing rit­u­als, Fat­was, prayers, in­for­ma­tion about Haj tour op­er­a­tors and im­por­tant tele­phone num­bers for hospi­tals op­er­at­ing in Arafat and Mina. To track the move­ments of buses fer­ry­ing pil­grims from Qatar to Saudi Ara­bia a GPS sys­tem is be­ing in­stalled and con­nected with the IT unit of the mis­sion.
