EM­PLOY­ING DO­MES­TIC MAIDS ON AN HOURLY OR MONTHLY SHORT-TERM BA­SIS IS IL­LE­GAL. IT CAR­RIES A PUN­ISH­MENT OF THREE YEARS' IM­PRIS­ON­MENT AND A PENALTY OF QR50,000. A QR50,000 FINE AND JAIL TERMS OF UP TO THREE YEARS FOR EM­PLOY­ERS WHO AL­LOW THEIR EM­PLOY­EES TO WORK FOR OTHER PAR­TIES WITH­OUT PRIOR OF­FI­CIAL AP­PROVAL.
