3 more held for vi­o­lat­ing home-quar­an­tine rules

THREE per­sons were ar­rested on Sun­day for vi­o­lat­ing home-quar­an­tine con­di­tions im­posed as part of ef­forts to con­tain the spread of coron­avirus (COVID-19).

The ar­rests were made in im­ple­men­ta­tion of the pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sures ap­proved by the health au­thor­i­ties rep­re­sented by the Min­istry of Pub­lic Health (MoPH) and sup­port­ing bod­ies to en­sure pub­lic safety and pre­vent the spread of the coron­avirus.

The vi­o­la­tors are sub­ject to le­gal ac­count­abil­ity in ac­cor­dance with the pro­ce­dures of the health au­thor­i­ties. The ar­rested per­sons are Mo­hammed Elias Sha­lantfi, Faisal Mounir Mo­hammed Mounir and Ji­had Ali Has­san Al Afrangi.

The au­thor­i­ties con­cerned have called on cit­i­zens and res­i­dents un­der­go­ing home quar­an­tine to fully ad­here to the re­quire­ments set by the Min­istry of Pub­lic Health to en­sure their safety and the safety of oth­ers.

Any­one who vi­o­lates these con­di­tions will be sub­jected to the penal­ties stip­u­lated in ac­cor­dance with the pro­vi­sions of Ar­ti­cle (253) of the Pe­nal Code No (11) of 2004, and the pro­vi­sions of Law No (17) of 1990 re­gard­ing the pre­ven­tion of in­fec­tious dis­eases, and Law No (17) of 2002 re­gard­ing the pro­tec­tion of so­ci­ety.
