Pulse Model Racquel Smith, THE FACE of the Caribbean in Naomi Campbell’s new reality show.

SHE Carribean Magazine - - FASHION NOTEBOOK -

SHE Caribbean caught up with Jamaican model Racquel Smith for a quick chat re her experience on the show to date. Why did you enter THE FACE? R.S.- I thought it would be a good place to enhance my career internationally and be seen by a lot more potential clients in the U.K. and Europe. I also really fancy my chances of winning. I feel proud to be a home grown Jamaican model representing my country. Describe the selection process? R.S.- There were around 10,000 entrants from all across Europe. We had three stages of auditions and then 50 girls were selected. This number was narrowed to 24 for the final group before the real competition began. We had a series of challenges and 12 of us were finally selected to be on the mentors’ teams. There is Team Caroline Winberg, Team Erin O’Connor and I am apart of Team Naomi Campbell. How do you feel about being on Team Naomi? R.S.- I felt overwhelmed. I have always wanted to meet Naomi. Getting the chance to be mentored by her is special. How do you see your chances of winning? R.S.- Very good. I don’t see any of the other girls as a threat. We are all on the same level competitively and therefore my chances are just as good as theirs. I won second place in the Pulse Model reality TV series when I began modeling. I have a good advantage from being in that competition and this time I feel I can go all the way!
