Entertainer Bounty Hype has been a stage personality here in Saint Lucia for a number of years. He first started off as an MC with dancehall Deejays before dabbling in dancing with the Hype Squad for a number of years. The group helped popularize a number of dances associated with Jamaican dancehall music. Bounty has also stepped up to the mic as a singjay, voicing a few dancehall tracks. But now, after much prodding from his friend Snapper, he has stepped up to the Soca plate.

Last week Bounty Hype released his very first Groovy Soca single “Love the way you whine it.”

He spoke to 2Nite Magazine about how the song came about.

“I started to freestyle a song and Carro of Carro’s Kitchen heard me and decided to write the song,” Bounty says. “So after I came up with the hook, he went home and the next day he came up with the song,” he went on to reveal.

Learrie of Studio No Xcitement was approached to record the track, which he agreed to. “Learrie did the arrangements and produced the song,” Bounty says. The song has since been released to local radio and Bounty says he will be going all out to promote “Love the way you whine it,” for Saint Lucia carnival and beyond.

“I intend on taking this song as far as I can,” he says. He is also thankful to persons like Snapper, Hollywood HP, Mega B, Ezra, Mr. Hazel and Ms. Georgie, Dr. Phils, Duval, Garvin and his mother for their continuous show of support and encouragement.
