Agroup of young St. Lucians scored a big win for the island at the Caribbean Fashion and Arts Film Festival in Trinidad, held from the 17th - 19th November. The film called Destination Runway was the winner in the Best Fashion Documentary category. Destination Runway follows Taribba do Nascimento of meme bete and Fiona Compton of Paradise Prints as they prepare for their first regional fashion show, Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica. The ladies are accompanied by Jesse Evans and James Adjodha of Wavemaker Photography, who documented their journey from preparation to showtime. Destination runway is an honest portrayal of the highs and lows of being a designer and the fast paced, high-energy world of runway shows. The film also features the work of local musicians Teddyson John and Michael Robinson. Wavemaker Photography, Paradise Prints and meme bete would like to thank the Ministry of Creative Industries, the High Commission of St. Lucia in the United Kingdom and Digicel for their generous sponsorship, which allowed Destination Runway to become a reality.
